Job Summary
Senior IT Systems Technician serves as the top escalation point for complex IT issues across systems and technologies, owning escalated issues end-to-end from root cause analysis to permanent solutions. The role includes training and mentoring other systems technicians, acting as a technical lead during major incidents, and driving improvements across Microsoft 365, Windows environments, networking, and scripting. Responsibilities also include documentation, communication with users, asset tracking and cost analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Travel up to 15% may be required; incident resolution and prevention are emphasized to reduce future incidents and escalations. Preferred certifications include Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Network+/Security+/Server+, Cisco CCNA, and ITIL Foundation, with experience in ITSM practices and enterprise-scale environments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of IT support experience
- Demonstrated expertise in Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, and scripting
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate; CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Server+; Cisco CCNA; ITIL Foundation
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale or distributed environments
- Exposure to ITSM practices such as Problem Management and Major Incident Management
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant certifications, such as: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate; CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Server+; Cisco CCNA; ITIL Foundation
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale or distributed environments.
- Exposure to ITSM practices such as Problem Management and Major Incident Management.
- 5+ years of IT support experience, with demonstrated responsibility for advanced, Tier 3–level issues.
- Demonstrated expertise in Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, and scripting, with strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills, and the ability to independently analyze issues and implement effective, long-term solutions.
