Senior IT Governance Specialist

Job Summary
Senior IT Governance Specialist to join Charter Manufacturing’s Digital Governance Office. You will execute and continuously improve digital governance workflows, stage gates, and operating rhythms across key initiatives; partner with program and project teams to ensure governance requirements are understood and applied; support delivery assurance through readiness assessments and remediation tracking; maintain governance artifacts, dashboards, and reporting; collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Risk, and Audit to satisfy control requirements; build scalable improvements and drive governance automation and tooling. This role is hybrid (3 days in-office in Mequon, WI) and requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of IT governance/delivery assurance experience, strong communication, and the ability to influence across cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in IT governance, delivery assurance, digital risk, compliance, audit coordination, or related disciplines
- Experience supporting complex technology or business initiatives in a matrixed environment
- Familiarity with project lifecycle controls, governance frameworks, and stage gate processes
- Strong experience managing governance artifacts, documentation, and audit evidence
- Understanding of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Experience with risk tracking, issue management, and status reporting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate governance concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to influence without authority and build strong working relationships across teams
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Clarity, Power BI, Smartsheet, Excel, or similar platforms
- Preferred qualifications: 7+ years of relevant experience; experience maturing governance/PMO/risk/compliance functions; exposure to audit readiness and remediation tracking; experience with ERP or enterprise platforms; relevant certifications (PMP, Agile, ITIL, Risk, Audit)
