Senior IREG & Network Test Engineer

Job Summary
Develop comprehensive IREG test strategies and execute end-to-end roaming validation across network registration, authentication, and data paths for Mobile Network Operator onboarding. Build and maintain automated test harnesses using Python to replace manual execution with scalable regression pipelines, while analyzing Diameter/SS7 traces to isolate configuration issues. Manage defects through root cause analysis and publish coverage metrics and dashboards for leadership. Coordinate with internal Signaling, Routing, and NOC teams alongside external vendors to ensure sign-off on GSMA standards and custom NTN test cases. This role supports Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN platform, enabling direct satellite connectivity for billions of devices across five continents.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in roaming validation, mobile core operations, interconnect routing, IREG testing, or telecommunications network testing
- Strong understanding of Diameter routing and relevant SS7/MAP concepts (including S6a/S6d, SGd, and roaming authentication/registration flows)
- Advanced protocol troubleshooting skills with experience reading Wireshark traces to diagnose failures involving multiple external parties
- Proven experience designing automated telecommunications testing frameworks using Python (or comparable languages) integrated with modern CI/CD practices
- Complete fluency handling IR.21/RAEX data profiles, PLMN structures, IMSI records, and TADIG codes
Desired Qualifications
- Practical experience with NB-IoT, NTN satellite architectures, NIDD data paths, or cellular device-lab environments
- Familiarity with IMSI Tracing tools, carrier-grade Diameter/SS7 diagnostic platforms, Jira, and Confluence
- Direct experience integrating network signaling validation with TAP/BCE billing verification
