Job Summary
Senior IP Capacity Planner role in the UK (hybrid: office in two days per week) responsible for owning end-to-end capacity forecasts for active network equipment across core, edge, aggregation and access IP domains. Translate demand signals into actionable network plans, budgets and delivery priorities; build and maintain scenario-based models for growth, failure, and resilience; translate product growth into capacity plans; generate capacity augment recommendations and track delivery with Engineering and Delivery teams; incorporate space, power and peak usage metrics; chair capacity reviews to prevent capacity-driven incidents. Requires deep IP capacity planning experience in telecoms, with hands-on knowledge of router architectures (e.g., Juniper MX, Nokia SR), MPLS, ISIS, BGP, OSPF, QoS, traffic engineering, and strong data skills including SQL and Python or R.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in IP capacity planning within a telecoms environment
- Significant experience with IP capacity planning across core and edge networks
- Hands-on router architectures and linecards (Juniper MX, Nokia SR)
- Strong understanding of MPLS, ISIS, BGP, OSPF, QoS, and traffic engineering
- Forecasting and time-series modelling proficiency
- SQL and Python or R programming skills
- Excellent communication across engineering and planning teams
Desired Qualifications
