Job Summary
Produce coherent, concise investment commentaries on asset classes including international equities, bonds, property, and infrastructure by analyzing complex data and liaising with Portfolio Managers and Analysts. Develop in-depth understanding of fund ranges and market views to create reports, marketing materials, and communications for client engagement, sales, and marketing initiatives. Write ad hoc pieces on significant market events and contribute to new business initiatives such as monthly and quarterly fund reports and presentations on manager changes. Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders in the Investment Division, marketing, and sales teams while attending regular investment meetings to communicate themes.
Required Qualifications
- A keen interest in and knowledge of financial markets is essential
- 5 - 7 years of experience in a similar role preferred
- Bachelor's Degree (preference in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Communications or similar discipline)
- Relevant investment writing or proven financial journalistic skills
- Knowledge of financial markets, investment funds and financial products
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences and through different mediums
- Excellent research skills and ability to interpret statistical information to support written statements
- Strong writing skills, excellent communication and relationship building skills and the ability to create high quality content from scratch under pressure to tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency at prioritisation, proven experience with managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to operate under scheduled deadlines
- A team player with proven ability to build strong and productive relationships – adaptable, reliable with a strong 'can do attitude'
- Ability to act with discretion and maintain complete confidentiality
