Job Summary
Senior Investigator in the Priority Investigations & Whistleblowing unit within Risk conducts end-to-end investigations across the bank’s Africa-facing operations, covering material, sensitive, and reputational issues in areas of Financial Crime (Fraud, Corruption, Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing/Sanctions, Market Abuse, Insider Trading, ID/Data theft) and breaches of ethical compliance. Responsibilities include managing investigations and whistleblowing activities, leading teams, coordinating with EXCO and stakeholders, writing high-quality findings, presenting to executives, and assisting with formal proceedings (disciplinary, civil recovery, criminal). Requires strong knowledge of legal frameworks (Prevention and Combatting of Corrupt Activities Act, FCPA, UK Bribery Act), established Forensic networks, and ability to mentor and develop leaders. A track record of handling complex, high-priority investigations and ability to work with senior clients is essential. The role will involve stakeholder engagement across Africa, with a focus on robust record-keeping, accountability, and delivering remedial actions.
Required Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent
- Financial Services Qualification or post graduate diploma
- 10+ years professional experience
- 5+ years in a financial services organisation
- 2+ years in a managerial/senior coordination role in a financial institution
- Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Law, Military Science and Security (Required)
