Job Summary
Senior Interior Designer leading projects from concept through construction administration across corporate workplaces, hospitality, retail, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. Responsibilities include design leadership and project management, developing design concepts and presentations, coordinating with architects, engineers and contractors, overseeing FF&E specifications and procurement, producing detailed construction documentation using Revit, ensuring compliance with building codes and accessibility standards, managing client relationships and workshops, contributing to business development, mentoring junior designers, and contributing to design standards. Requires 5–8 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field; proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualization tools; familiar with sustainability rating systems and project management platforms; located on-site in Melbourne, Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field from an accredited institution
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in interior design practice
- Advanced proficiency in Revit for 3D modeling and construction documentation
- Strong capability with Adobe Creative Suite for presentation materials and graphics
- Experience with 3D visualization software (SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of project management platforms (e.g., Procore, Aconex, BIM 360)
- Familiarity with lighting design principles and ability to coordinate with lighting consultants
- Understanding of sustainable design principles and rating systems (Green Star, WELL, LEED)
- Experience with AI-powered design and visualization tools for concept development, rendering enhancement, design iteration, and documentation efficiency
- Proficiency with generative AI platforms for design exploration, content creation, specification research, and project documentation support
- Design & Professional Competencies: space planning principles including ergonomics, circulation, zoning, and spatial efficiency
- Extensive knowledge of materials and finishes
- Thorough understanding of building codes and regulations including accessibility compliance, fire safety, and occupancy classifications
- Portfolio requirements demonstrating range of projects with workplace focus
