Job Summary
Senior Integration Engineer to own end-to-end payload integration lifecycle for Blue Ops USV family. Lead design, installation, test validation, and delivery of both vendor-supplied and internally developed payloads (sensors, communications, weapons interfaces, C-UAS, and mission hardware). Act as primary technical liaison among vendors, internal Red Cat/Blue Ops teams, and government customers; develop ICDs, acceptance tests, and integration plans; manage documentation, CM, and test results; support at-sea demonstrations and fielding. Requires strong cross-functional collaboration, systems engineering mindset, and ability to work onsite with a hybrid schedule in West Palm Beach, FL; occasional travel. Must meet DoD security requirements and adhere to ITAR/EAR controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- 5+ years of hands-on systems integration and test experience in defense, maritime, aerospace, or unmanned systems environments
- Demonstrated experience integrating hardware payloads onto unmanned or autonomous platforms
- Proven ability to author and execute integration test plans, acceptance test procedures, and formal test reports with defined pass/fail criteria
- Experience managing interface requirements and producing ICDs or equivalent interface specification products
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems integration: power distribution, cabling/harness design, grounding schemes, EMI/EMC practices
- Strong vendor management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to brief technical topics to non-technical senior leadership and government customers
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (desired)
- Experience with naval/marine electronics integration and ISR payloads (desirable)
- Experience with maritime autonomy stacks and ISR payloads (desirable)
- Proficiency with CAD tools for payload mounting interface design (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
- Experience with MIL-STDs and ITAR/EAR considerations
- Experience supporting DoD rapid acquisition pathways and customer demonstration events
- Embedded systems experience with edge compute platforms (Jetson, Xavier, Raspberry Pi)
- Knowledge of MIL-STDs (461, 810, 1553)
- Familiarity with MAVLink, ROS 2, DDS
- Experience with ArduPilot/PX4 on unmanned platforms
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency for ITAR/EAR compliance
