Job Summary
Manage claims inventory to reduce outstanding accounts receivable and resolve insurance processing errors and denials. Gather information from patients, payors, and agencies to register patients, obtain pre-authorizations, and verify eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers. Request, input, and modify patient demographic and payor information while utilizing specialized software for revenue cycle activities. Explain charges, answer billing questions, and communicate policies regarding patient financial care to patients, staff, and agencies. Work with Claims and Collections to assist families with payment activities and identify financial resources.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ Medical Billing/Follow-up experience
- 2+ Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payor experience
- 2+ Experience with Benchmark and/or Star McKesson
- 2+ years California payer experience
- 2+ years Hospital Billing experience
- Proficiency with PC-based applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Download speed of 30MB or higher & upload speed of 10MB or higher
- Access to a Secure and Private workspace
- Must be willing to submit for a background check
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire
