Job Summary
Manage representation of CURE in PIP and Coverage litigation cases in Forthright and Superior Court from inception to conclusion. Evaluate assigned cases, prepare and respond to arbitration demands, pleadings, and discovery, and handle Examinations Under Oath and depositions. Plan and defend cases, draft and argue post-arbitration motions and appeals, and negotiate high-level settlement agreements. Collaborate with the Claims Department to establish litigation objectives and obtain prompt resolution. Requires JD from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to the MI State Bar, and 5+ years in insurance defense. Salary ranges from $130,000 to $160,000 with a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one remote day in Southfield, MI.
Required Qualifications
- JD required from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to practice, and in good standing, with MI State Bar
- At least 5+ years insurance defense experience in both Forthright and the Superior Court
- Experience independently managing a caseload of PIP and Coverage matters, working cases from beginning to end
- Excellent research, writing, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to think critically, analyze complex information, and problem solve with expedience
- Highly collaborative working style with demonstrated commitments to meeting individual and team goals
- Must be adaptable and computer savvy with an ability to navigate multiple system
