Job Summary
Perform installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment including PLC, DCS, SCADA, and turbine controls. Execute preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on switchgear, motors, transformers, and emissions systems while reading electrical drawings and P&IDs to optimize boiler and combustion performance. Maintain accurate records in the CMMS and coordinate maintenance activities with plant personnel, contractors, and OEMs during outages. Lead root cause analyses and reliability initiatives to reduce downtime and enhance plant safety. Occasional overtime, weekend, and on-call duty required; base pay $39.52 to $47.44 per hour with performance bonus eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Process Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Plant Technology, or a related technical field
- Significant experience performing instrumentation, controls, and electrical maintenance in power generation or other heavy industrial facilities
- Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor control centers, switchgear, transformers, variable frequency drives, batteries, chargers, generator excitation systems, and related equipment
- Extensive experience maintaining and troubleshooting PLC, DCS, SCADA, turbine controls, transmitters, analyzers, control valves, CEMS, and other industrial instrumentation and control systems
- Strong understanding of boiler, steam turbine, auxiliary equipment, biomass fuel handling, combustion controls, and emissions control systems
- Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, and OEM technical documentation
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to lead troubleshooting efforts, coordinate contractors and vendors, support outage activities, and mentor less experienced technicians
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license in good standing
- Monday through Friday day shift schedule
- Occasional overtime, weekend and holiday work

- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, high-visibility clothing, steel-toe boots, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), respirators, and fall protection
- Willingness to undergo post-offer physical examination
- Willingness to undergo drug screening
- Willingness to undergo post-employment random drug screening
