Job Summary
Conduct construction engineering and inspections on highway, bridge, and railroad projects in Connecticut, performing field tests, monitoring conformance to specifications, and tracking quality assurance progress. Plan and accomplish goals using independent judgment while setting project deadlines and maintaining inspection records. Provide on-the-job training to new employees and participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning. Work under general supervision of the Construction Project Manager with flexibility for overnight shifts. Requires 8 years of related experience, valid driver's license, and NICET Level 3 certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 8 years of related experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work
- Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)
- Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Desired Qualifications
- NICET certification Level 3 (or ability to obtain required level)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
