Job Summary
The Senior Inpatient Coder will be responsible for reviewing inpatient medical records and accurately assigning ICD-10 CM diagnosis and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes. Responsibilities include deriving APR-DRG and MS-DRG for optimal reimbursement, collaborating with the Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist, abstracting pertinent information according to established guidelines, and formulating provider queries to clarify information.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in inpatient coding
- Certification in coding (CPC, CCS, etc.) is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ICD-10 CM and ICD-10-PCS coding
- Knowledge of clinical documentation integrity concepts
