Job Summary
Senior Inhouse Legal Counsel with a focus on commercial contracting and risk management. Lead major supplier contract negotiations and advise on MSAs, Panel Agreements, and contracts with subcontractors and global members. Provide legal input on data privacy, AI usage in services and procurement contracts, interpret contractual provisions for non-lawyer colleagues, and support commercial disputes and contracting best practices. Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Compliance and Independence teams to deliver commercially sound legal guidance, identify industry-wide risks, and develop training and firm guidance. The role requires senior-level negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and pragmatic, business-oriented legal solutions within Grant Thornton Australia’s in-house team. Hybrid work arrangement with Sydney or Adelaide offices available.
Required Qualifications
- Inhouse experience within a top-tier or large mid-tier accounting or professional services firm; or experience in a top-tier or large mid-tier law firm
- Australian legal practising certificate (unrestricted)
- Strong experience across general commercial legal work including drafting, negotiating, and advising on a range of commercial contracts
