Senior Infrastructure Project Manager - Aviation

Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of projects, ensuring delivery against programme objectives for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and risk. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering projects across the programme portfolio while overseeing consultant, contractor, and stakeholder performance throughout design and construction. Act as the primary interface with senior client representatives, including the Airport Transformation Manager and Programme Director, to drive programme governance, reporting, decision-making, and performance management. Chair senior project, design, and governance meetings, manage programme-level risk and change control, and prepare executive-level programme reports and KPIs for senior stakeholders. This role requires 15+ years of experience, with attendance on site four days per week and one day available for remote working.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years' experience delivering major commercial, building, and civil infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle
- Extensive experience working with the NEC Suite of Contracts in a client, contractor, or consultancy environment
- Proven experience delivering projects within the aviation sector or other operationally complex, live infrastructure environments
- Demonstrated success delivering major capital infrastructure programmes with responsibility for cost, schedule, risk, governance, and stakeholder management
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring Project Managers
- Strong client-facing, commercial, and leadership skills with experience managing senior stakeholder relationships
- Over 15 years of experience leading the delivery of major infrastructure and capital investment programmes, with particular expertise in large-scale civil engineering, drainage, and utility projects
- Extensive knowledge of project and contract management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and driving high-performing project programmes that achieve strategic and operational objectives
- Significant experience operating within complex, multi-stakeholder environments, effectively managing relationships across clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, local authorities, and community representatives
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence decision-making, build collaborative partnerships, and lead multidisciplinary teams to successful outcomes
- Previous experience using the NEC Suite of contracts as a client, contractor or subcontractor
- Previous experience in an Aviation setting or similarly constrainted environment
- Attendance on site required four days per week and one day per week available for remote working
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
