Job Summary
Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure across on-premise and hybrid environments. Leads virtualization and storage initiatives, administers VMware environments, SAN/NAS storage, and coordinates cross-functional work with IT, security, and business teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security. Key duties include managing Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, patching and backups, data-center migrations, firewall and network operations, L3 incident support, and creating runbooks, SOPs, and migration playbooks. Required skills encompass VMware ESXi/vSphere/vCenter, SAN/NAS storage, backup solutions, networking fundamentals, cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), ITIL governance, and experience in the Retail industry. The role emphasizes collaboration across application, cloud, network, and security teams, modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, architecture reviews, and roadmap planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- Relevant professional experience in IT infrastructure roles with VMware, storage technologies, and systems operations
- Certifications: VMware VCP/VCAP or equivalent (preferred)
- Proven experience managing infrastructure within the Retail Industry
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server, VMware (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter), and storage platforms (SAN, NAS)
- Proficiency in workload migration, backup solutions, and infrastructure monitoring tools
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including Layer 2 switching, VLANs, firewalls, and load balancers
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Understanding of ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management
