Job Summary
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of on-premises compute infrastructure using Cisco UCS, VMware, and Hyper-V across multiple data centers. Architect scalable, secure solutions while troubleshooting complex L3 issues and managing automation initiatives with PowerShell, Terraform, and Ansible. Drive disaster recovery strategies and collaborate with Agile teams to participate in SAFe ceremonies. Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to infrastructure roadmap planning and emerging technology evaluations. Work within large-scale, enterprise-grade environments to lead strategic initiatives and influence technical direction.
Required Qualifications
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering and virtualization
- Strong expertise in VMware (vSphere, vSAN, NSX) and Hyper-V with SCVMM
- Experience with private cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Deep knowledge of compute infrastructure, storage, networking, and virtualization layers
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation frameworks
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities
- Experience integrating virtualization platforms with backup, monitoring, and storage solutions
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments (e.g., VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution)
- Ability to Design highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions
- Ability to Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across complex virtualized environments
- Ability to Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of VMs
- Ability to Optimize workloads using DRS, affinity rules, and resource pools
- Ability to Plan and execute upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal downtime
- Ability to Implement security hardening and RBAC policies across platforms
- Ability to Collaborate effectively within Agile/SAFe teams and cross-functional environments
- Ability to Mentor team members and drive technical excellence
