Job Summary
Act as a senior technical escalation point for infrastructure, cloud, and network issues while supporting and improving Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid infrastructure services. Manage enterprise networking, firewalls, VPNs, and connectivity services by delivering upgrades, reducing legacy dependencies, and automating deployments through scripting and tooling. Produce clear documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards while collaborating with Service Desk, security specialists, and external suppliers. Provide 3rd line expertise and mentor colleagues across the wider technology team. This role offers broad technical exposure within a collaborative environment to influence a cloud-first strategy and drive modernisation projects.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in infrastructure engineering within enterprise environments
- Hands-on knowledge of Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune and identity platforms
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Strong networking expertise, including firewalls, routing, switching and VPN technologies
- Experience with automation, scripting and infrastructure-as-code approaches
- Understanding of IT service management processes, including incident, change and problem management
- Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management and vendor management skills
- A structured, pragmatic approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure
