Job Summary
Senior Information Security Analyst responsible for hands-on, operational security work including incident response as a first responder, monitoring and triaging security alerts, analysing security data for trends and risks, supporting investigations, vulnerability management and patch validation, and operating security technologies (SIEM, endpoint protection, email/web security). The role includes contributing to detection capability through threat hunting, leveraging external threat intelligence, and reporting security metrics and operational performance. The position is part of AJ Bell's hybrid working model with in-office time in Manchester or London; prior experience in financial services or regulated environments and ongoing professional development (CISSP or equivalent) are valued.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating and monitoring security tooling such as SIEM, endpoint protection and email/web security solutions
- Proven information security role experience, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment
- Strong analytical skills with data interpretation for decision-making
- Experience with information security frameworks (ISO27001, NIST)
- Commitment to continuous professional development (e.g. CISSP or equivalent)
- Ability to conduct proactive threat hunting and improve detection capability
- Understanding of cloud security controls and standards
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows and Linux
- Strong communication skills
- Well organized with prioritization abilities
- Ability to challenge processes to improve outcomes
