Job Summary

Senior Industrialisation and Ramp-Up Manager responsible for transitioning engineering prototypes to scalable serial production. Define the industrialisation roadmap, align Manufacturing Readiness Levels with programme gates, and lead the design of the full production system from line layout and tooling to automation and digitalisation. Collaborate across engineering, supply chain, quality, and programme leadership to shape Make vs. Buy decisions, qualify the supply base, and drive New Product Introduction activities to meet ramp-up milestones on time, cost, and quality. Own the Production Master Schedule and MRL strategy, establish capacity baselines and quality gates, and implement lean manufacturing practices. Drive supplier qualification, First Article Inspections, and cross-functional execution while maintaining hands-on involvement in production and communicating with both shop-floor teams and executive stakeholders. Note the role is suitable for candidates with proven industrialisation and ramp-up experience in manufacturing, with strong coordination across multi-disciplinary teams and an ability to manage complex programmes.

Required Qualifications

  • Led industrialisation and production ramp-up programmes from prototype through to serial production at scale
  • Defined and managed Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) strategies and aligned MRL progress with TRL gates and programme milestones
  • Designed production systems including line layout, tooling, and automation, applying Lean Manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and quality
  • Shaped Make vs. Buy strategies and led supplier qualification activities including First Article Inspections and qualification processes with procurement
  • Provided cross-functional leadership across engineering, supply chain, quality, and programme teams, engaging with shop-floor and executive stakeholders to maintain production momentum
  • Experience in defence/aerospace manufacturing environments or similar regulated industries (quality frameworks)
  • Experience with manufacturing digitalisation programmes and MES/Industry 4.0 tooling

  • Ability to operate across organisational levels and maintain hands-on involvement in production execution
  • Demonstrated capability to define capacity baselines, quality gates, and scalable production procedures

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with defence or aerospace manufacturing environments and their associated regulatory and quality frameworks
  • Experience with manufacturing digitalisation programmes, including MES implementation or Industry 4.0 tooling
