Senior Industrial Electrician – Electrical Maintenance Lead

Job Summary

Lead all facility electrical maintenance activities by overseeing installation, troubleshooting, and repair of 480-volt three-phase systems, power distribution equipment, and motor controls. Mount PLC I/O modules, control panels, and field instrumentation while reading schematics and wiring diagrams to ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards. Supervise and mentor a team of five to six electricians, coordinate capital improvement projects, and perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime. Serve as the primary subject matter expert for industrial electrical systems, ensuring safe work practices and accurate documentation of all repairs and modifications.

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Extensive experience working with 480-volt three-phase electrical systems and industrial power distribution
  • Strong background troubleshooting electrical systems, motors, motor controls, VFDs, transformers, and production equipment
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring maintenance electricians or technical personnel
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities with the capability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities
  • Effective communication skills with operations, engineering, contractors, and maintenance personnel
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and workplace safety
  • Journeyman Electrician license, technical certification, or equivalent industrial electrical experience
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from lifts, and access elevated equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, noise, dust, and around energized industrial equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading or mentoring maintenance electricians or technical personnel preferred
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting is beneficial but not required as a primary responsibility
  • Journeyman Electrician license, technical certification, or equivalent industrial electrical experience preferred
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field is a plus
