Job Summary
Senior Incident Commander and Analyst at Autodesk responsible for guiding high-severity cloud service incidents from triage to resolution. Lead cross-functional engagement, deliver timely stakeholder updates, participate in on-call rotations, run post-incident reviews, and drive data-driven improvements and runbooks. Role emphasizes strong communication, negotiation across stakeholders, and deep technical understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, serverless, HA) to mitigate customer impact and improve service resilience.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a similar operations function within a high availability, 24x7, mission critical environment delivering or leading front-line support for a public-facing service with a high-volume, paying customer base
- 3-5 years’ experience leading or defining processes for high availability production environments or services
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technology field or equivalent experience
- Effective written and verbal communication to diverse audiences; experience leading large online meetings with many participants in English
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation including off-hours and weekends
- Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure services, serverless technologies (Aurora, Lambda)
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, high availability architectures, DNS, NTP, HTTP, etc.
- Ability to rapidly assimilate new systems and adapt to changing conditions
- Experience with incident analysis, problem, and change management practices
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Catchpoint)
- Experience administering AWS accounts and instances or network infrastructure
