Senior IMS System Support for z/OS

Job Summary
Administer and support enterprise environments including z/OS, Linux, Windows, servers, storage, and virtualization to ensure performance, availability, and reliability. Manage and prioritize incident, problem, and service request queues while performing root cause analysis and executing changes per ITIL, SLA, and compliance standards. Implement security controls, patching, and access management, leveraging monitoring tools and automation to optimize operations and support modernization initiatives. Handle complex troubleshooting for IMS subsystems, including dump and log analysis, Sev1/Sev2 incident resolution, and high availability and DR exercises. Work closely with IMS DBAs, z/OS sysprogs, and application teams to maintain mission-critical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands‐on experience with IMS subsystem support on z/OS
- Strong IMS system programming expertise - installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance
- Advanced problem determination - complex incident troubleshooting, dump and log analysis, Sev1/Sev2 handling
- Solid z/OS system fundamentals - JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2, system‐level operations
- Support for high availability and DR exercises
- Large experience in enterprise, mission‐critical IMS environments
- Advanced English - direct communication with global client
Desired Qualifications
- SMP/E expertise for applying IBM IMS maintenance (PTFs, APARs) and familiarity with third‐party IMS tools (monitoring, automation, utilities)
- Exposure to modernization or optimization initiatives
- Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior system programmers
