Job Summary
Senior Import Trade Compliance Specialist coordination and management of import/export compliance programs (ITAR/EAR), classifying products with harmonized tariff codes, Schedule B, and country of origin; ensuring accurate trade documentation, providing shipment clearance instructions to customs brokers, auditing import entries, maintaining records, and supporting regulatory investigations; requires cross-functional collaboration with logistics, procurement, accounting, and legal; knowledge of US trade laws including CBP, export control, and regulatory classifications; exposure to trade programs and documentation for regulatory compliance including FDA-related documentation for laser emitting products; target skills include CH 84/85/90/98/99 classifications, and experience with ERP systems like Oracle or SAP.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree and / or 3-5 years of Customs compliance work experience, or other equivalent certification
- Experience with semiconductor or other high tech industry
- Demonstrated ability with classification in CH 84 & 85; CH 90, CH 98 & CH 99 Commodity Control List (CCL) 3, 5, and 6
- Written communications skills as well as the ability to apply critical thinking skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and execute several projects at once
- Proficiency in Microsoft Software
- Experience with Oracle and/or SAP a plus
