Job Summary
Senior I&R Specialist delivers consistent, professional information, referral, advocacy and systems navigation for health, housing and social service needs via telephone, in person, email or other channels. Responsibilities include conducting phone-based assessments, making accurate referrals to community resources, using CRM tools (HMIS/iCarol) to enter and analyze client information, coordinating services with internal and external stakeholders, researching and advocating for housing-focused resources, and supporting disaster/emergency service activation. The role requires empathy, active listening, data entry, and knowledge of health and human services networks, with opportunities to develop certifications (e.g., CIRS) and work across diverse populations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Social Work, Human Development, Sociology, Psychology or related field from accredited university or college
- OR
- 2+ years direct client services experience in a community-based health, social service, information and referral or non-profit setting
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Effective verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse and multicultural individuals, respectful of confidentiality
- Ability to work with MS Office, Google Docs and multiple computer screens
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Reliable transportation
- Availability for shifts up to 12 hours during declared emergencies, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must pass drug screening and background checks
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
