Job Summary

Senior Hydrogeologist – Minerals and Metals leads technical delivery in hydrogeology and mining-environment projects, providing senior technical leadership, review, and assurance across mandates. Responsibilities include leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, geology, hydrology, geochemistry), developing and reviewing hydrogeological conceptual models and numerical groundwater models, ensuring regulatory compliance and sound scientific interpretation, managing project scoping, budgets, and schedules, and contributing to business development, proposals, and client engagement. The role requires strong capabilities in groundwater characterisation, modelling, regulatory knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration, with travel as needed and bilingual communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related earth-science discipline
  • Licensed professional in good standing with a Canadian regulatory body (e.g., P.Geo. or P.Eng.)
  • Typically 15–20+ years of progressive experience in hydrogeology and/or mining environment consulting
  • Experience leading or supporting projects end-to-end with multidisciplinary coordination
  • Strong experience in groundwater characterization, numerical groundwater modelling, groundwater resource assessment, impact analysis, and/or contaminant hydrogeology
  • Proven ability to author, review, and defend high-quality technical deliverables; clear communication to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong understanding of provincial and federal groundwater, water-resources, and environmental regulations related to mining projects
  • Interest in business development, client engagement, and growth of hydrogeology practice
  • Excellent proficiency in English and French
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for short assignments in Canada or internationally
