Senior Hydrogeologist

Job Summary
Conduct complex research and provide technical expertise on assigned projects, including independent modeling of groundwater flow systems. Develop and apply complex groundwater flow and hydrologic models while demonstrating expertise in groundwater quality, water resource development, and geologic principles. Manage projects and contractors by developing specifications and overseeing construction, while identifying and delivering solutions to clients. Prepare and present solutions to policy makers and manage regulatory agency communications to ensure compliance with environmental legislation. Assist with writing proposals, mentoring junior staff, and developing new business relationships. This role is based in Central Florida and requires 15–20 years of experience with proficiency in MODFLOW and regional Florida groundwater models.
Required Qualifications
- Position requires a degree in Geology (and/or hydrogeology)
- 15 – 20 years of directly related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or Hydrogeology
- The candidate must have 10+ years of progressive experience working with regulatory authorities and teams of engineers and scientists
- Working knowledge of hydrogeologic and groundwater flow principles
- Working knowledge of groundwater flow models
- Strong statistical background
- Proficient in technical writing and presentations
- Capability and desire to assist in the development of new business with clients and teaming partners, utilizing existing and newly developed relationships
- Computer modeling skills should include Numerical (FD & FE) modeling, MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas and other regional Florida regional groundwater models

Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree is preferred
- A working knowledge of Florida's hydrogeology and environmental constraints would be preferred
