Job Summary

Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems at customer locations across healthcare, manufacturing, education, and office sectors. Diagnose and resolve complex control system issues using Modbus, BACnet, and Niagara protocols while editing control logic and generating detailed performance reports. Coordinate on-site installation and retrofits by forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing work with team leaders. Mentor team members and provide field-level support to system engineers on application challenges and control sequence design. Maintain security of company assets, enforce safety standards, and work overtime or overnight as business requirements dictate.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school
  • At least 10 plus years of experience in HVAC
  • Technical School or formal training
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software
  • Working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Leadership skills
  • Technical versatility
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-platform environments independently
  • Strong command of HVAC, lighting, and energy management controls
  • Proficiency in industry protocols including Modbus, BACnet, and Niagara
  • Ability to integrate and interface systems using appropriate methods
  • Proficiency in BAS integration
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues across diverse environments
  • Ability to edit control logic
  • Ability to optimize sequences of operations
  • Ability to generate detailed system reports to support diagnostics and performance analysis
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Ability to effectively explain complex technical issues and system behavior to customers
  • Ability to provide field-level support to Trane System engineers
  • Expert guidance on application challenges, system performance issues, and control sequence design
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify root causes and implement innovative, effective solutions
  • Ability to generate and present reports to identify root causes and recommended solutions
  • Working knowledge of control system components, including sensors, actuators, and VFDs
  • Committed to continuous learning in BAS technology and industry standards
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Participation in on-call rotation
  • Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $31.62 - $59.91
  • Hourly Incentive Eligible: No

  • Pass additional drug screening

Desired Qualifications

  • EPA Certification (e.g. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer etc.)
