Senior Human Resources Manager

Job Summary

Manage the daily workflow of the department, supervising two team members and overseeing data collection for internal and external projects. Identify employee developmental needs to coach and mentor staff while creating learning and development initiatives. Stay current on federal, state, and local labor laws to ensure policy compliance and analyze compensation trends to propose competitive pay programs. Uphold the Collective Bargaining Agreement, administer union duties, and act as a liaison for external benefits providers. Create and modify budgets, maintain employee files, and identify process gaps to improve efficiency. Support the Senior Director in establishing HR strategy and handling complex, sensitive staff issues.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience working in human resources
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • A college or university degree or possess knowledge equivalent to a 4-year degree from a college or university
  • Comfortable in all aspects of HR, including but not limited to employee relations, recruiting, administration, benefits, compensation, compliance, and staff development
  • A willingness to work closely with and learn from colleagues, including being willing to take direction and editing from others, and to incorporate feedback
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Interest in working with a pro-immigrant organization that is focused on immigration law and immigrant rights issues

Desired Qualifications

  • SHRM or HRCI certification
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Training, teaching, or other public speaking experience
  • System implementation experience
