Job Summary
Senior HR Generalist role based at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia, supporting the touch-labor workforce across first- and second-shift operations. Responsibilities include acting as liaison between employees and operations, addressing benefits, compensation, attendance, and general inquiries; conducting employee relations investigations; advising on ADA, FMLA, FLSA, harassment, discrimination, corrective action and progressive discipline; guiding managers on union and non-union workforce issues; preparing reports, analyzing workforce trends, and supporting performance reviews and development programs; maintaining HRIS and producing data-driven insights; delivering training initiatives and communications to operations leadership; and ensuring compliance with HR laws and company policies while collaborating across a growing manufacturing/industrial environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
- US citizenship required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a human resources generalist or labor relations role required
- Proven experience supporting the operations department in a warehouse, construction, manufacturing, production or similar industrial environment required
- Prior experience working with a unionized workforce required
- Must be able to adjust work schedule as necessary, including working additional hours in order to support a growing workforce on both first and second shifts
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating emotional intelligence
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency in Excel
- Must be a self-starter with problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; detail oriented and efficient
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities in a rapidly growing organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with shop floor engagement
