Job Summary
Senior HR Generalist provides trusted advisory support to employees and leadership, administering and advancing HR functions including employee relations, performance management, compensation, leave/attendance, and employment law compliance. Serves as Lead HR Generalist, coaching and mentoring HR Generalists, guiding policy implementation, and supporting organization-wide HR initiatives. Responsible for developing and communicating HR policies, ensuring compliance with federal/state/local laws (EEO-1, affirmative action data, ADA, FMLA, workers’ comp, postings), coordinating leave programs, conducting internal investigations, supporting performance management processes, and collaborating with Payroll on compensation distribution. Travels to agency locations as requested and contributes to HRIS data integrity, reporting, and process improvements. Requires strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, I-9s, leave and accommodation laws, excellent communication, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive information; proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS; prior non-profit HR experience highly desired.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Business, Communications, or related field; or high school diploma and professional HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) required
- Minimum of 5 years of human resources experience, including at least 3 years in an HR generalist or HR business partner role
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and required minimum liability insurance
- Employment is conditional upon criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
