Job Summary
Collaborate with site leadership to develop a proactive safety culture and act as a resource for coaching and mentoring field personnel on all HSE matters. Identify, document, and control hazards while ensuring incidents are reported, investigated, and documented with corrective action plans implemented. Maintain an 85% daily field presence to conduct inspections, review hazard assessments, and verify personal protective equipment is in place. Assist in daily toolbox and weekly safety meetings, liaise between clients and crews regarding HSE concerns, and lead ongoing orientation and training initiatives. Ensure all safe work practices and policies are reviewed and that documentation is readily available.
Required Qualifications
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation
- 10+ years' HSE field experience
- Excellent working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
- Valid Drivers License
- WCB claim management understanding
- End-User Fall Protection
- Confined Space
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
- Ability to remain objective and maintain a factual perspective when dealing with questions and inquiries
- Sense of urgency and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
- Ability to deliver a message to a large group
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Understand the dynamics of working with unionize and non-unionized trades

- CRSP or Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
