Job Summary
Lead Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities across one or more large-scale construction projects, acting as the primary HSE lead on site. Drive regulatory compliance, implement the site HSE strategy and management system, and conduct inspections, audits, and compliance reviews. Manage risk assessments, permit-to-work processes, and incident investigations with root cause analyses. Promote a strong safety culture through training, coaching, and engagement while monitoring and improving contractor HSE performance. Prepare HSE reports for stakeholders and senior leadership, mentor junior professionals, and ensure adherence to local regulations and company standards. This client-facing role reports to the Project Director or Account Leadership and may involve managing a site HSE team.
Required Qualifications
- Business-level Japanese and English
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
- 10+ years of HSE experience
- Confident leadership style with the ability to enforce HSE standards
- Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
- Self-driven and able to work independently
- Client-facing role
- Reports to Project Director / Account Leadership
- May manage a site HSE team
