Job Summary
Own the full employee lifecycle for the US team, from onboarding through offboarding, while leading performance appraisals, managing exits, and driving learning and development initiatives. Serve as a trusted point of contact for distributed US employees, proactively surfacing and resolving people issues before escalation. Act as a direct client-facing partner on performance concerns and project health, driving issues to resolution without waiting for approvals. Maintain expert knowledge of US federal and state employment law to advise leadership on compliance risks and make decisive calls on sensitive situations. Partner with senior leadership to set best practices and influence people decisions, supporting recruitment efforts while operating as an independent decision-maker in a lean, high-ownership consultancy environment.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience at senior HR manager, HRBP, or HR director level
- Deep, demonstrable expertise in US employment law across multiple states — including benefits, compliance, terminations, and risk management
- Proven experience owning the full employee lifecycle for a US-based workforce
- Track record of operating as an independent decision-maker who sets direction rather than seeking approvals
- Excellent spoken and written English, with the confidence to communicate directly with US leadership and clients
- Able to work full-time on Central Standard Time (CST)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting US teams from Latin America or another remote/nearshore location
- Background in professional services, IT or technology consulting, or staffing — environments where people are the product
- Experience in fast-paced, lean organizations where speed and ownership are cultural norms
- Client-facing or account-adjacent HR experience
- SHRM-CP/SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification
- Studied or worked in the US before returning to home country
