Job Summary
Senior Highway Engineer to lead multidisciplinary transportation projects for NJ agencies. Lead engineering teams, prepare and oversee roadway/highway design plans, geometry, grading and drainage, safety improvements, utility coordination, and traffic control staging. Provide technical QA/QC reviews; oversee construction support (submittals, RFIs); assist with business development, client coordination, and proposals. Maintain project schedules, budgets, and financial performance; coordinate with clients, subconsultants, and internal teams for successful delivery. Requires minimum ten years highway/roadway design experience and a New Jersey Professional Engineer license; familiarity with NJDOT, New Jersey Turnpike Authority, and AASHTO design standards; experience with MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads; Primavera, Excel, Word proficiency; strong communication; ability to lead PM roles. Preferred: experience serving as Project Manager and/or Roadway Design Team Leader.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer license in New Jersey
- Minimum of ten years highway, interchange, or roadway design experience
- Familiarity with NJDOT, New Jersey Turnpike Authority, and AASHTO design standards
- Experience with CADD software (MicroStation and InRoads or OpenRoads)
- Proficiency with Primavera, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead project teams and manage multiple priorities
