Job Summary
Lead transportation design projects for PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, applying roadway geometrics, 3D modeling, cross-section development, traffic control, signing, pavement markings, and right-of-way plans. Mentor junior civil design staff, develop specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports, and actively participate in client service teams to drive proposal development and client relationships. Bring a Civil Engineering degree, PE license, roughly 10-15 years of highway engineering experience, and hands-on familiarity with PennDOT/PTC, MicroStation/OpenRoads, MS Office, and AASHTO design standards. Strong leadership, communication, and business development capabilities are essential for coordinating design delivery and mentoring the team in Pennsylvania. LOCATION: Pittsburgh, PA; Role is full-time with standard benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (Pennsylvania preferred)
- 10-15 years of hands-on highway engineering experience
- Solid experience with PennDOT and/or PTC
- Proficiency in MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads, and Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO design standards
- Ability to determine scopes of work, prepare highway task estimates, and oversee quality control
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
