Job Summary
Senior Highway Design Engineer focused on leading roadway design initiatives. Responsibilities include guiding horizontal/vertical alignments, drainage, guide rails, signage, striping, ROW and MPT; conducting roadway safety audits and inspections; developing plans, reports, specifications, estimates, and bid documents; coordinating with subconsultants and internal teams; performing field visits during construction; ensuring quality assurance and adherence to agency standards; representing the firm in client meetings and supporting client development; mentoring junior engineers and promoting a collaborative, inclusive technical environment.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years experience in highway design or civil engineering
- leadership experience in project teams
- ability to lead the design of roadway projects and develop plans, reports, specs, estimates, and bid documents
- ability to conduct field visits and QA to ensure compliance with agency standards
- strong client-facing and mentorship capabilities
