Job Summary
As a Senior High Voltage Power Engineer, you will oversee the design and coordination of high-voltage and medium-voltage systems for various energy projects, ensuring technical oversight throughout project delivery and lifecycle. This role involves managing EPCs and external consultants, optimizing facility designs, leading interconnection discussions, and providing technical specifications and standards. You need 15+ years of experience in a technical leadership capacity within clean energy, alongside strong knowledge of HV substation design, and expertise in power system analysis and design tools.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years total experience, with significant time spent in a technical leadership or management capacity
- Extensive experience in clean energy project development, including interconnection, owner’s engineering/IE oversight, EPC management, and commercial negotiations
- Experience delivering utility-scale projects through energization
- Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams and external consultants/contractors
Desired Qualifications
- Deep experience leading HV substation/collector design (34.5-500 kV) at a developer, EoR, or EPC
- Strong understanding of HV transmission, substation equipment, MV distribution, metering, relaying, and SCADA/plant controllers
- Technical expertise in power system design, optimization, and studies
- Understanding of interconnection processes in ERCOT and similar markets
- Advanced knowledge of steady-state modeling tools such as ETAP, SKP, or DigSILENT
