Senior Heat Exchanger and HTRI Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary
Develop process designs for energy industry projects from inception to completion, establishing design criteria and preparing specifications, drawings, models, and bills of material. Supervise complex process unit designs while performing detailed calculations and reviewing vendor quotations for technical adequacy. Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and technical selection of equipment, ensuring conformance with applicable codes, ASME standards, and client specifications. Provide technical guidance to junior staff, review engineering work packages, and authenticate documentation with a professional engineering stamp. Steward change management and prepare discipline inputs for cost estimates, adhering to Vista Quality Management System requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in engineering or applied science
- Ten (10) or more years of thermal analysis, selection and sizing of shell-and-tube heat exchangers and air coolers by using HTRI in the energy industry
- Ten (10) or more years of mechanical design of heat exchangers, air coolers and pressure vessels
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and industry standards including ASME VIII div 1 & div 2, CSA B51, API 660, API 661, TEMA, ABSA regulations etc
- Hands-on experience in utilizing the software of HTRI, HTFS, Compress, PV Elite, NozzlePro
- Extensive experience in development and peer review of mechanical datasheets, TBC, TBE, MRQ & MRP, vendor documents review of heat exchangers and air coolers
- Ability to work and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team including Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural & Architectural, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls and Piping Engineers and Designers as well as Project Management and Procurement personnel
- P.ENG registration with APEGA
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and efficient in time management
- Ability to meet safety requirements to attend site visits
- Candidates may be required to complete a security clearance procedure prior to receiving an offer
