Lead day-to-day field construction activities on assigned jobsites, organizing a large project staff where duties are divided among multiple employee-owners. Oversee overall safety by implementing plans, designating first aid areas, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local codes. Review records, submittals, and shop drawings to determine project scope, manpower requirements, and equipment needs while planning physical layouts and startup activities. Direct field engineers in initial surveys and layout, establish procedures for material ordering, and inspect all construction work to ensure high-quality workmanship. Plan daily and weekly activities, resolve ambiguities in plans, and assist the project manager in evaluating schedule and cost impacts. Manage governmental inspections, develop manpower and equipment projections, and foster staff training and career development. Maintain detailed daily reports and resolve construction problems through direct negotiation with owners, architects, and consulting firms.
