Job Summary
Senior Health Policy Analyst to lead research and analysis of state and federal policy issues for Colorado Access. Develop high-impact deliverables such as position papers and talking points; serve as SME on individual insurance market policy and Medicaid/CHP+; collaborate with lobbying/policy consultants; translate policy development into strategic recommendations; and provide strategic counsel across the organization while prioritizing an equity lens in legislative, regulatory, and budget analyses. The role includes representing COA in policy coalitions, staff for leadership in coalitions, and contributing to external positioning and advocacy efforts. Requires master’s degree in a relevant field, at least five years of health policy experience, strong communication and analytical skills, and driving license. Hybrid work environment in the metro Denver area.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social science, public policy, economics or public health required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in health policy required
- Experience working with Medicaid, CHP+, and individual health plan Marketplace policies and programs preferred
- Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
- A valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance will be required for any position requiring driving
