Job Summary
Senior Hardware Test Engineer in a hybrid role based in Fremont, CA, leading design verification testing for humanoid-robot arm subsystems and components. Own verification strategy, develop robust test infrastructure, drive subsystem-level characterization, and improve test coverage, rigor, and design robustness. Responsible for defining verification plans and protocols across the product lifecycle, ensuring traceability from requirements to results, and mentoring junior engineers. Key experience includes mechatronics verification, motor controllers, sensors, actuators, end-effectors, EtherCAT, and Python-based test automation; strong collaboration with hardware design, systems engineering, and supplier partners; and a track record of actionable design feedback and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in test engineering, design verification, or electrical validation
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Controls, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience with design verification testing of complex hardware systems (robotics or related)
- Proficiency with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DAQs, power supplies, and environmental test equipment
- Proficiency in Python scripting for test automation
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to translate test results into clear design feedback
- Experience collaborating with hardware design, systems engineering, and supplier partners
- Experience validating electro-mechanical systems and safety-critical electrical subsystems
- Demonstrated ability to develop test infrastructure, automate test setups, and build scripts and diagnostics
