Senior Hardware Technician (Tier 1)

Job Summary
Senior Hardware Technician to install and repair Wenco hardware systems on mining equipment, mentor team members, and provide hands-on training on software and hardware. Responsibilities include repetitive installation work across a large fleet with root-cause analysis, network installation and configuration, on-site and remote troubleshooting, documenting installation procedures, managing relationships with mine sites, contributing to product improvements, and enforcing safety procedures. Requires extensive travel, GNSS and radio/networking expertise, and strong organizational and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in radio, electronics or extensive practical experience to an equivalent level, preferably in mining
- 6 to 10 years of experience in hardware installations and networking
- Extensive travel required (must have a valid passport and legally be able to travel internationally if required)
- Advanced knowledge of GNSS systems
- Ability to work with Windows OS computers (XPe, XP, Win7, and Win10 IoT operating systems)
- Advanced acknowledgement and understanding of networking and radio technologies
- Advanced level of electrical fault finding
- Moderate knowledge with Windows Server OS Systems (2008 – 2016)
- Mining experience/knowledge would be an asset
- Valid driver’s licence (excellent driving record with no major violations)
- Experience and knowledge that supports mentoring junior roles within hardware team
