Job Summary
Develop power and ground systems for next-generation Optical and Ethernet platform equipment by designing high-performance circuit pack level power solutions. Collaborate with hardware, mechanical design, and external supply partners to realize designs and deliver component sub-systems into production. Conduct design, verification spec, and performance results reviews with peers while working with suppliers and manufacturing procurement organizations. Verify system and sub-component designs using engineering and production prototypes. Requires a Bachelor of Engineering degree, 10+ years of experience in electrical power systems, and expertise in system power and grounding design. Located onsite in Kanata, ON.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering degree
- Experience in system power and grounding design
- Power component circuit pack design
- Product development cycle experience
- Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills across multiple disciplines in Hardware development, manufacturing, test engineering, and with external suppliers
- Experience in mentoring fellow engineers for team building, project management, and development projects in power hardware design
- Proven project management knowledge
- Experience with power lab test equipment
- Measurement techniques
- Product development experience in microelectronic power
- Familiarity with OEM design partnerships and co-developments
- PCB schematic capture and layout tools
- Proven track record working with domain experts in mechanical, power, thermal, hardware, software and systems for platform developments
- Ability to lead analysis
- Analyze technical data
- Solve complex engineering problems
- 10+ years working with electrical power systems in an industrial or utility environment
- Expertise in key areas of System Power and Grounding design
- Power Component Circuit pack design
- Product Development cycle experience
Desired Qualifications
- Postgraduate in Electronics or Micro Electronics Power
- Professional Engineer (PE) designation or eligibility
- Customer site power and grounding
- Knowledge of power and ground design standards for Telecom and Data center customers
