Job Summary

Lead analysis capability development initiatives with emphasis on virtualization, translating DFMEAs into test cases and driving architectural design for innovative battery cells and controls. Develop and optimize charging techniques to recover sulfated batteries, while identifying gaps in prognostic health metrics to prevent diagnostic failures at dealerships. Provide technical expertise for DRE releases, coordinate with lab specialists for product growth, and document lessons learned on failure modes to prevent thermal venting. Optimize tester algorithms to reduce no-trouble-found visits and lead supplier manufacturing initiatives to reduce process defects. Perform third-party teardowns on warranty returns and analyze big data from installation through customer hands to pinpoint issues and develop countermeasures. Requires seven years of experience in battery development and five years with automotive electric power, low voltage batteries, and big data analytics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field of study
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a Product Engineer, Battery Development Engineer, Control Engineer, or related occupation
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field of study
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Product Engineer, Battery Development Engineer, Control Engineer, or related occupation
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Automotive Electric Power and Low Voltage Batteries
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Batteries, Electric Power, Battery Management and Vehicle Integration
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Battery product and process knowledge including automotive manufacturing and supplier battery plants
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Battery teardown analysis, root causing and development of countermeasures
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Dealership/plant battery testing tools to guide appropriate improvements that lead to reduced battery warranty and associated costs
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Big Data Analytics - End to end analysis of battery information from installation in the vehicle, through logistics and dealership into customer hands to pinpoint issues and develop countermeasures
  • Must be able to report to local office
