Senior Hardware Designer – Battery Management Systems (BMS)

Job Summary
Derive hardware requirements from battery subsystem specifications and translate them into practical design choices. Define BMS hardware architecture and functional blocks based on system needs, standards, and certification requirements. Create schematics and PCB designs in OrCAD, including symbols, footprints, and production-ready documentation. Define interfaces to the battery system and contribute to optimal EE layout. Select electronic components balancing performance, safety, availability, and manufacturability. Prepare manufacturing deliverables for PCBA production and support test, troubleshooting, and validation. Specify hardware–software interfaces with the software team and ensure structured technical documentation. Work closely with cell experts, system engineers, and software engineers to define AFE parameters and operating modes.
Required Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience in electronics/hardware development
- Documented experience in hardware design for Battery Management Systems — this is essential
- Strong experience in circuit and PCBA design
- Hands-on experience with AFEs, MCUs and BMS-related hardware architectures
- At least 3 years of OrCAD experience for schematic and PCB design
- Fluent English, both spoken and written
- Location: Huskvarna, Sweden (Jonsered (Gothenburg) may also be considered)
