Job Summary
Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead end-to-end development of high-speed Ethernet hardware for enterprise campuses, hyperscale datacenters, and AI clusters. Responsibilities include authoring functional specifications for high power/density Ethernet switches, component qualification, schematic capture and tool-based design verification, PCB layout coordination with eCAD teams, performing SI/PI simulations on power and datapath signals, coordinating with mechanical/thermal teams, defining PCB stackups with vendors, developing programmable logic devices for control/timing planes, collaborating with CM and suppliers from prototyping to production, lab bring-up and debugging of prototypes, driving cross-team debug with software/test engineers, training contract manufacturers for high yield testing, mentoring engineers, and adhering to DFx practices. Required experience includes extensive hardware design for 100G/200G PAM4 Ethernet, FPGA/RTL work (Verilog/VHDL), multi-layer, high-speed PCB design, DFM for mass production, and strong SI/PI knowledge; degree requirements include BSEE or MSEE; 10+ years of relevant experience; and experience bringing products from concept to production.
Required Qualifications
- BSEE or MSEE
- 10+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience
- Experience designing networking hardware, particularly involving 100G and 200G PAM4 Ethernet switching
- Embedded x86/ARM system design is highly desirable
- Experience designing 20+ layer count boards featuring 50G+ signals and advanced PCB manufacturing technologies
- Experience working with multi-phase DC/DCs for high current, high transient loads
- Experience with high speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe
- Writing specifications and drawings for high complexity boards
- Working with CAD designers on layout and routing
- Familiarity with signal integrity and power integrity concepts and tools (impedance, PDNs, S-parameters, TDRs, VNA)
- Mass production Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- FPGA design and system simulation using Verilog and/or VHDL
- Working with contract manufacturers
- Successfully taking products from concept to production
