Job Summary
Play a key role in developing and implementing improvements to gardens, grounds, playing fields, and external surfaces, enhancing the school environment. Responsibilities include maintaining gardens, lawns, and playing surfaces; preparing ovals for sporting events and carnivals (including line marking); supervising and maintaining pumps, irrigation gear, and drainage systems; safely distributing and applying pesticides, sprays, and fertilisers; operating a wide range of machinery for lawns, turf, and fields; supervising and training grounds staff, trades people, and apprentices; managing stores and facilities with stock control and records; and ensuring a safe working environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in maintaining gardens, lawns, and playing surfaces
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining pumps, irrigation equipment, and drainage systems
- Ability to safely distribute and apply pesticides, sprays, and fertilisers
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining specialised machinery and equipment
- Experience in supervising and training grounds people, trades people, and apprentices
- Eligibility to work within Australia; ability to obtain Paid Employee Blue Card prior to commencement
