Senior Grants and Contracts Manager

Job Summary
Create budget reconciliation and forecasting reports to meet faculty on financial situations, then review and approve all expenditures while ensuring compliance with effort reporting requirements. Submit payroll changes, make timely journal entries, and manage grant close-outs. Support pre-award activities including grant preparation, budget development, application form submission, and responding to sponsor requests. Work directly with Principal Investigators and interface with central administrative offices to ensure applications meet university, school, and sponsor requirements for a portfolio of federal, foundation, industry, and international awards. Manage fiscal, administrative, and regulatory issues from award receipt through closeout.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience
- 3+ years of those years in pre- and post-award management experience (both federal and non-federal)
- Bachelor's degree
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA)
- Experience working with investigators on the management of complex research awards and working with a variety of sponsors
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Attention to detail, organized, strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced working knowledge of research compliance issues & of key federal grant regulations
- Understanding of human subject use, animal use and other research compliance areas
- Problem solving skills and ability to be flexible
- Must be able to work fully remotely at a non-Harvard location
- Must be able to work all scheduled hours in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University's Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts
