Job Summary
Senior Grant Accountant will provide fiscal oversight and guidance on grant requirements for charter school programs, prepare and submit grant-related financial reports, and ensure grant funds are spent within grantor restrictions. The role requires in-depth knowledge of GAAP for nonprofit organizations, training and advising school sites on financial accounting, developing tools and processes for efficient grant tracking, budgeting with program managers, and coordinating audits and compliance across local, state, and federal grants. The position supports the central office in Los Angeles and leverages Workday for financial operations; a CPA is preferred and candidate should have experience with nonprofit audits and grant accounting, with opportunities for remote work on an occasional/recurring basis.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of 3 years (5 years preferred) of progressive professional work experience in accounting or a related field
- bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, or a related field
- CPA (preferred)
- Workday experience (preferred)
- knowledge of procedures and internal controls of GAAP
- experience with non-profit audits, including federal, state, and local compliance
